Most days I have a smoothie for my breakfast. They’re quick to prepare and you can pack so much nutrition into them. I usually¬†add some protein and fat into my smoothies to keep me full for longer. Protein and fat are also important for weight loss and it’s particularly good to have them in the morning. Remember, though, that everything should be had in moderation – balance is the key! Here’s my current favourite recipe that takes me no more than 5 minutes to make.


5 minute green breakfast smoothie


Large handful of spinach
1 celery stick
A handful (150g) of frozen pineapple
1 banana
1tbsp almond butter
1tbsp pumpkin seeds
1tsp maca powder
250ml water

Blend until smooth. Add more water if needed.
