Believe in yourself and you can do anything
With over 10 years of experience as an entrepreneur, I know exactly how challenging, stressful, scary and lonely it can be! When I look back on my journey, I now realise that something I should have worked on from the beginning was my self-belief and trust in myself. There was a lot of skills support on offer for new entrepreneurs when I started out but no one ever told me how important self-belief and the right mindset is – it’s this that makes all the difference, not the skills (you can always hire someone with the skills but you cannot hire people to believe in you!).
To be successful, and to enjoy what you do, you need to have the courage to be authentically yourself and trust your own inner guidance, even when it goes against what everyone else says or does.
You need to be able to handle stress, learn to not sweat the small stuff, have balance in your life, look after your mental and physical wellbeing no matter how busy you are, be more focused and clear on who you are and what you want so that you can work less and achieve more. Everything comes down to your inner wellbeing, finding your own authentic voice, confidence to be you, self-belief, self-love, feeling good enough, feeling worthy of success , finding your inner power – this is what I focus on in my coaching because when you get this right, magic happens!
Keys to business success
Know thyself/be authentic
Don’t just copy someone’s idea and don’t ask what the world needs, rather ask ‘what do I have to offer the world?’. To be truly successful, you first need to know who you are, then figure out what you have to contribute and then do it in an authentic way, staying true to yourself. Dare to be different. Dare to be you!
Focus on you, who you are and what you’re offering. Stop wasting all your time on following others and comparing yourself to them. This is very challenging in today’s world but it’s essential if you want to be authentic and succeed.
If you do not believe in yourself and your business, then it’s hard to convince your audience. If you do not believe in yourself, then no matter how many people tell you you’re great, you will never believe them. Self-belief, along with your mindset is everything. It’s the only difference between those who fail and those who succeed.
One of the great things about having your own business is that it gives you so many great opportunities to grow as a person. In other words, it’ll test your limits, you’ll have many obstacles to overcome, stress, problems, fears… Too many people get scared and give up too easily. You need to persevere and take these obstacles as opportunities to grow and learn and understand that this is just a normal part of the path to success.
